The All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation, formed in 2005, is a national trade federation instituted for the promotion and growth of trade in gems and jewellery across India. Soon, it will be converted in to a quasi-government body under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion- Ministry of Commerce. It is a federation that has come together to ensure fair trade practices and for the efficient organization of business in the gems and jewellery industry.
The numerous local associations already in existence fail to focus on issues of the trade at a national level, which is why the All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation was formulated. GJF unites manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, exporters, institutes, quality-control laboratories and allied & ancillary industries of the trade all over India. The intention is to shape and influence the industry's future and bring integration and opulence amongst its members, while continuing to protect the interest of the customers.
